To better protect people in Singapore from online scams, IMDA is using a new system for text messages. SMS messages with unregistered Sender IDs will be replaced with the “Likely-SCAM” Sender ID. This serves to warn the recipient that the sender has not registered itself with SMS Sender ID Registry (SSIR) and that the SMS message may potentially be a scam.
More choices, no bill shocks, and better protection all round for consumers; these are some of the goals of policies and regulations developed by IMDA to create a conducive infocomm environment that is both pro-consumer and pro-business.[br/][br/]With data protection and cloud security policies, IMDA aims to boost consumer confidence in the safe use of infocomm technologies and services.
Data privacy and data protection are a top priority at IMDA. Unsolicited communications, also known as spam, refer to emails or mobile messages that promote products and services without the recipient's prior request or consent.
